Who I Am

Let’s start at the beginning…

I grew up with a stay-at-home mom who cooked every day. Meals as a child consisted of traditional Mexican-Mennonite dishes from pirogies to barbacoa. I was raised with the rule of “you have to try it at least once”. Which, looking back, is what cracked open the door to expanding my palate and developing an interest in the culinary world. TV shows I liked were geared towards “Chopped” and “Masterchef” and once in a while I could persuade my little sister into a competition of our own. My parents took us all over the continent and trying the cuisine was always a must. There were many 3 day journeys from Canada to Mexico where we couldn’t wait to be huddled around a street taco cart. Exploring the city of Montreal and giving poutine a try.

I’ve done more cuisine exploring on my own since then. Beignets and gumbo in New Orleans and fresh seafood in Miami. Learning to like oysters and going back to our little taco cart. Soon exploring new foods turned into experimenting with all things food. I started arranging charcuterie and learning cooking techniques. I would always cook something different for my family, for my friends, then the idea came to bring this new-found passion to you. A couple opportunities arose to try this culinary thing on a larger scale for some family and friends. With several happy and well-fed customers, I had the motivation to take this seriously. So here we are! I’m excited to share this with you, to create for you.
